The compact safety relays of Wieland Electric’s new series S1000 are designed especially for simple and inexpensive safety applications e.g. on small stock machines.

The series S1000 devices feature a very low installation height of just 85 mm, making them suitable also for narrow installation spaces. They are 20 mm shorter than conventional standard safety relays. The devices are mounted without tools on TS35 DIN rails according to DIN EN 60715.
The safety relays are offered as connection variants with coded, pluggable screw or spring-loaded terminals, i.e. devices can be replaced quickly and safely during service. The first devices of the new S1000 series are the two types SNO 1012K and SNZ 1022K.

The SNO 1012K safety relay implements the common safety functions emergency stop and safety door monitoring and can be used up to performance level PL d or safety level SIL 2, depending on the application. When monitoring the respective safety function, the safety relay can be operated either with manual reset or with automatic restart.

The SNZ 1022K two-hand relay can be applied in two-hand installations acc. to EN 574-1 Category IIIA. This makes the two-hand relay ideal e.g. for punching machines, presses or other applications, where machine operators must give a manual switch-on command in a clocked production environment. To guarantee safe machine operation, the two-hand control pushbuttons (with NC/NO contacts) are monitored for their synchronous actuation.

All devices in the Wieland Electric S1000 series are type tested by the employers’ liability insurance associations and/or TÜV (German safety testing association) and in safety-critical applications according to EN ISO 13849-1 and/or EN 62061.
