Wieland Electric is proud to host the first ever online digital forum dedicated to bringing industrial customers the latest information about functional safety standards, risk analysis, best practices, and latest technology.

On March 9th and 10th, we will bring together leading industry minds to focus on solutions and risk reduction strategies for industrial machinery. Industry experts will be discussing functional safety regulations & standards, risk assessments, designing & planning, safety software, and safety logic devices. The program will feature presentations from the ANSI B11 Safety Committee president, Mr. David Felinski, and our own TUV-certified Functional Safety Expert, Mr. Leo Sanchez. You will also have the opportunity to pose your functional safety related questions during the Round Table conversation with all of our experts.

Matthias Wimmer

Matthias is a safety veteran who started his carreer 27 years ago at TÜV Nord as the head of the test laboratory. He is a functional safety expert well versed in safety design for machines. Matthias has CMSE and CESE certifications and is a member of the NA-95 standardization committee for the standards EN13849, EN13850, EN14118, EN13851. He has published in numerous industry journals and currently provides training on functional safety and European directives.

Leonardo Sanchez is a machine safety professional with more than 20 years of experience in the manufacturing and electrical industry.  He is certified as an Expert in Functional Safety of Machinery by TUV Germany for his merits in this field, he is one of only 33 people worldwide certified at this level (TUV 286 Certification/ 17).  Leo also has NFPA Certification, and expertise in OSHA, ANSI, ISO, and NFPA standards related to electrical and machinery safety, including experience with turnkey projects for multinational companies in different manufacturing segments such as pharmaceutical, food and beverage, pulp and paper, automotive.

Martin Lalonde

Martin Lalonde is a professional engineer with 20 years of experience in the manufacturing sector and over 15 years of that time dedicated to machine functional safety. Martin is also a Certified Electrical Safety Engineer (CESE) by TUV-Saar. He is the Application Engineering and Technical Team Lead at Wieland Electric, supporting clients with product configurations, training, and custom projects.

Stiven Pazos

Stiven Pazos is an electrical engineer with over 10 years experience in the automation sector. For the past five years he has been supporting clients with functional safety solutions and system set-up as an Application Engineer at Wieland Electric. As project leader he has first-hand knowledge of system builds and is credited with many process improvements. Stiven also has experience in gantry robots for the aerospace industry as well as orbital automated welding equipment used in nuclear, renewable energy, petrochemical, shipbuilding, medical, aerospace and other industries.
